First Edition. Very scarce first edition of this crime classic, the author's third book. Publisher's black cloth with orange spine lettering.
Almost invisible repair using matching cloth to small snag at top of spine, which is slightly sunned. No inscriptions or other marks. Extremely hard to find in such nice shape.
