The library is not a public collection. There are no opening hours and no drop-in access: it is a scholar's working library, in daily use, and every visit is arranged individually so that the books you came for are out on the table when you arrive.

Researchers are genuinely welcome. Tell us what you are working on, which authors, periodicals or editions you need to see, and roughly when you might travel. We reply personally and agree a day that works.
