First Edition. Rare true first edition of this juvenile work by Kingston. Published in 1880, but undated, as is always the case with Gall & Inglis.
Red, diagonally ribbed cloth with decoration and lettering in black and gilt. Nice, clean, bright copy, with previous owner's inscription dated 1882. All editions of Kingston's books published in his lifetime (d.1880) are now quite uncommon due to small printings and natural attrition.
