First Edition. Scarce first edition of this Trollope classic, his only novel to be published by Tinsley. 353pp text + 16pp catalogue dated May 1872. Trollope #38, the primary issue in red-brown patterned cloth, lettered in gilt and ruled in black.
Signs of label removal from front cover and neat internal repairs to snags at head and tail of spine. Inner hinges split but neatly reglued. A good, sound copy, very clean internally.
