An Editor's Tales

Anthony Trollope
Strahan, London · 1870

First Edition. Nice copy in original cloth of one of Trollope's lesser known works of fiction. The six tales originally appeared, under the author's editorship, in St Paul's Magazine (1869-70).

Sadleir #34, first issue in the pinkish-brown sand-grain cloth, lettered in gilt and black with rules in black. Chocolate end-papers. Spine is slightly sunned and dulled; neat internal repair to snag at head of spine.

Rear inner hinge strained and neatly reglued. Other than these minor flaws a sound and internally remarkably clean copy with no previous ownership marks. Writing nearly 80 years ago, Sadleir described this title as scarce, particularly in Fine condition.

Although not Fine, this copy is certainly very good, and such copies are by now rare.

Written by Dr Jeremy Parrott, who has the book in his hands. Nothing here is generated from a catalogue record.
