The Black Robe
Wilkie Collins
Chatto & Windus, London · 1897
First Edition Thus. Scarce early edition of this Wilkie Collins novel, originally published by Chatto in 3 vols. in 1881. This is a copy of the much sought after limp cloth edition published at 2/6d.
Original smooth green cloth lettered and decorated in black and gilt, pale yellow endpapers. Publisher's catalogue at rear dated Feb. 1897. Very clean, sound copy with just slight shelf wear to extremities.
Most uncommon to find a copy of this cheap edition in such a nice state of preservation.
Written by Dr Jeremy Parrott, who has the book in his hands. Nothing here is generated from a catalogue record.
