Meg Egy Csokrot
Jokai Maurus [Jokai Mor]
Athenaeum, Budapest · 1886
First Edition. Very scarce first edition of this 281pp short story collection by Jokai, the greatest Hungarian prose writer of the 19th century. In an attractive contemporary craftsman's binding: sepia diagonally ribbed cloth with elaborate blind-stamping to covers, spine title label in leather and gilt decoration; all edges marbled and with marbled endpapers.
Budapest binder's ticket on front paste-down. Minor soiling to cloth else a bright, sound and internally very clean copy.
Written by Dr Jeremy Parrott, who has the book in his hands. Nothing here is generated from a catalogue record.
