First Edition. Good Plus. Very scarce first edition of this long novel by Jokai, published in paper wraps in six volumes, here bound in cloth and in three volumes.
Burgundy diagonally ribbed contemporary cloth, lettered and decorated in gilt with blind-stamping to all covers, edges marbled. Original ownership inscriptions to title pages and sporadic foxing to the text. Nonetheless a bright and tight set and a rare opportunity to acquire a genuine first edition by the undisputed master of Hungarian fiction in the 19th century.
