First Edition. First edition of this uncommon Benson novel, one of 18 to appear under the Heinemann imprint between 1899 and 1913. Publisher's brown cloth lettered and decorated in black. 342pp text + 8pp ads, top and fore edges trimmed, lower edges untrimmed.
Neat internal repair at base of spine and a few faint watermarks to cloth but other than these minor flaws a very clean copy with no previous ownership inscriptions.
