First Edition. Very scarce English first edition (simultaneous issue in US and UK) of Barnum's huge fund of anecdotes. 374pp with photo frontis of the author. This copy has been recased in the original binding with new endpapers.
A well-loved copy as attested by grubby marks passim to margins and covers. Nonetheless a perfectly sound copy of a rare book.
