First Edition Thus. Very scarce first edition in this format of Verne's first successful novel. This is a copy of the Author's Illustrated Edition in the original paper on card illustrated covers. dated 1876 on title page and with 16pp catalogue at rear dated January 1876, announcing this title and series.
Inevitably somewhat worn since this is a mid-Victorian shilling paperback, the miracle is that it still exists at all. Minor edge chipping to paper onlay front and back and more substantial loss to spine paper. The book is intact and generally in decent shape - quite clean internally and without any ownership inscriptions.
