Extremely scarce lengthy extract from Orwell's 1984, the first appearance in Hungarian shortly before the fall of Communism. 20 pages dealing with Winston Smith's role in rewriting history, in a translation by Szijgyarto Laszlo. The book was, of course, banned under Communism (though a few copies were circulated clandestinely in a samizdat translation) and this was one of the very first books to be published in full after the restoration of democracy in 1989.The extract is in the monthly periodical Nagy Vilag, the issue for September 1988, A fine copy in the original soft covers. A highly collectable and historically important publication.
