First Edition. Scarce first UK edition of this novel by Clark Russell, 'the prose Homer of the ocean'. Original vertically ribbed dark green cloth lettered in gilt, 376pp text [Wolff #6054].
In list of new novels on ht verso Clark Russell is erroneously credited as the author of Rodman the Boatsteerer. Corrected by hand in black ink to Louis Becke. Damp marking along fore-edges of both covers, not extending into the text block; quite sound and internally very clean.
