First Edition. Scarce true first edition of this Scalet Pimpernel novel. Undated copy [1913] in publisher's scarlet cloth with pasted on paper vignette to front cover, gilt lettering and blind-stamped decoration.
Verso of half-title lists 9 titles in the Orczy library as required [Parrott A.21].Tipped in before title double-page plate of partially burnt letter from Sir Percy. Vague grubbiness to cloth and minor rubbing to corners but a generally clean and attractive copy. Previous ownership inscription on front endpaper dated August 13th 1913.
