First Edition. Rare first edition of this major novel by Marai, recently reissued in Hungary after being out of print for nearly 60 years. It is also only the second of his novels to appear in English translation under the titles Conversations in Bolzano (UK) or Casanova in Bolzano (US).
In the publisher's original pale buff cloth lettered in brown and pink. Foxing and slight grubbiness to sensitive cloth otherwise a presentable and sound copy. Very hard to find now, even in Hungary.
