Under Western Eyes

Joseph Conrad
Methuen, London · 1911

First Edition. Presentable copy in first edition of one of Conrad's finest novels. One of the scarcest of Conrad's trade published works, the total first edition having been printed in just 3,000 copies [Ehrsam 2300].

Publisher's 32pp catalogue dated September 1911 as required. Textured pinkish red cloth with spine lettering and decoration in gilt. The present copy shows general minor signs of wear and handling - scuffing to head and tail and corners, and light foxing to the first few pages.

Nonetheless a perfectly sound copy of a fairly difficult title, offered at a realistic price.

Written by Dr Jeremy Parrott, who has the book in his hands. Nothing here is generated from a catalogue record.
