First Edition. Scarce first edition of John Beynon's [aka John Wyndham] second novel and first sci-fi title, undated but published in 1935. This copy is in the very rare vertically ribbed tan cloth [most seem to be in blue cloth].
Spine gilt lettering oxidized but still readable; minor shelf wear and signs of age but perfectly sound and with no previous ownership inscriptions.
