First Edition. Lovely copy of the very scarce first edition in Hungarian of Mailer's most famous novel. In publisher's orange linen binding lettered in black, cream dw lettered and ruled in sepia, silk head and tailbands and integral silk marker.
A massive 760pp includingfrontis. portrait of Mailer and 13pp intro to his work by Elbert Janos. The translation is by Szijgyarto Laszlo. The work went through numerous printings in Hungarian and this is just the second copy of the first edition that I've come across in nearly 20 years of dealing in Hungarian books.
A great addition to any Mailer collection.
