First Edition. Rare copy of this literary bi-annual. Large format sotback, printed in just 1100 numbered copies.
Notable for containing pre book publication material by Genet, Claudel, Leiris and Queneau, but most famously of all an early draft of Huis Clos (In Camera) by Sartre under the title Les Autres. It is in this play that we can find Sartre's most well-known existentialist one-liner: 'L'enfer, c'est les autres' - 'Hell is other people'. Numerous advertising leaflets loosely inserted.
One nibble with loss to edge of rear cover and some edge creasing else a VG copy.
