Kaddis [Kaddish]

Imre Kertesz
Magveto, Budapest · 1990

First Edition. Very scarce first edition in the original Hungarian of this celebrated short novel, translated into English as Kaddish. Imre Kertesz was surely one of the most surprising Nobel Prize winners ever.

Until the award few Hungarians had ever heard of him, let alone the rest of the world. This novel was published long before the award and is now very hard to find. In publisher's bright lavender cloth without dust-wrapper, as issued.

Very slight bump on top edges else a clean, smart copy.

Written by Dr Jeremy Parrott, who has the book in his hands. Nothing here is generated from a catalogue record.
