First Edition. Extremely scarce first edition of Forster's fourth novel. In the publisher's vertically ribbed burgundy cloth lettered in gilt. 4pp adverts at rear indicating 1st issue.
Endpapers professionally replaced. Light general shelf wear and the usual sunning to spine but without the foxing commonly found on this title. Internally very clean and overall a good sound copy of a difficult title to find in the original cloth.
