First Edition Thus. Lovely edition of this classic piece of Victoriana. This is a copy of the 16th edition in the publisher's dark blue diagonally ribbed cloth, bevelled edges, blind-stamping to both covers with gilt lettering and decoration to front cover and spine; all edges gilt; yellow coated endpapers. 418pp of text with illustrated extra title page and tissue guarded frontis. + numerous full-page plates.
Foxing to prelims else clean inside and out with just minor surface scuffing to extremities. Nice copy. Hyde W.
