Captain Gault, Being the Exceedingly Private Log of a Sea-Captain

William Hope Hodgson
Holden & Hardingham, London · 1921

First Edition Thus. Very scarce 2nd edition of this strange book, a nautical novel in 10 chapters betwen two pieces of nonsense verse. The first edition of 1917 is almost impossible to find.

This is a copy of the cheap edition issued by Holden & Hardingham in 1921. Publisher's red paper-covered boards lettered in black to spine; slight wear to head and tail; surface rubbing and slight sunning to spine; inner hinges strained but holding, else clean and sound. A fragile piece of post-war book production; very few copies seem to have survived.

Written by Dr Jeremy Parrott, who has the book in his hands. Nothing here is generated from a catalogue record.
