This is the true first edition in the original Hungarian of Erno Rubik's own book about the Rubik Cube. A truly remarkable phenomenon in marketing history. Rubik designed his first cube in 1975, took out a patent in 1977 and got the first cubes onto the Hungarian market in the same year.
By 1980 over 1 million had been sold in Hungary (which has a population of just 10,000,000). The first international article on the cube appeared in 1979 and sales picked up at an incredible rate. In 1980 it was the toy of the year around the world.
This book covers history, science, development, technique and strategy - everything you need to know. Large format softback as issued, illustrated in colour and black & white throughout. 206pp text. Slight edge chipping to laminated covers but overall a clean and quite presentable copy.
This book was translated in English and published by Oxford University Press in 1987. This is the Hungarian original. Very scarce and a highly desirable item.
