Very unusual book published by Wellcome pharmaceuticals, including a 50-page history of vaccination and 310-page alphabetical guide to drugs, their medical uses and quantitoes of ingredients required to make up prescriptions. There are numerous plates, some in full colour, adverts and information about Wellcome Burroughs. The book is undated but was clearly issued in 1912 or 1913 since it includes a calendar for 1913.
The text is in German throughout. Similar volumes were produced at this time in English and French. Full scarlet cloth lettered and decorated in gilt to front cover with blind-stamped view of the Wellcome laboratories in dartford, London on the rear cover.
Rounded corners, all edges gilt. A fascinating little book and extremely scarce.
