First Edition. Early short story collection by this writer who was several times nominated for the Nobel Prize. First edition, undated, but published in 1948.
In publisher's half-cloth binding; red spine lettered in gilt, brown, paper-covered boards. Cheap and fragile post-war austerity binding and paper. Very good survivor, showing only minimal signs of shelf wear.
