First Edition Thus. Scarce early edition of this boys' adventure novel, first published in 1893. This copy is of an undated second edition (so stated on title-page) from the late1890s.

Bright blue cloth lettered and illustrated in black, red, white, green and gilt to front cover and spine. Unattributed illustrations. 410pp + 2pp undated catalogue of Ballantyne's works. Front free end-paper missing & very minor rubbing to extremities else a sound, bright and very clean copy.
