First Edition Thus. First one-volume edition (4th in total) of Maartens' most famous work. In the Bentley's favourite novels series and in the very dark green cloth lettered in gilt, decorated endpapers.
Notable also for having a 32pp catalogue ar rear listing and numbering nearly all the titlesin the Favourite Library. The only such listing I have ever seen. Minimal shelf wear but a nice copy of a scarce early edition.
