The Human Tragedy

Alfred Austin
Blackwood, London · 1876

First Edition. Decent copy of this uncommon early volume, a 4-act verse-drama running to over 1100 8-line stanzas! It was first issued in 1862 but immediately withdrawn by the author and only published 14 years later in this revised format. Publisher's smooth dark blue cloth lettered in gilt.

Several small and relatively unobtrusive library stamps. Minor rubbing to head and edges of spine else clean and sound.

Written by Dr Jeremy Parrott, who has the book in his hands. Nothing here is generated from a catalogue record.
