The Great Interruption

W.B. Maxwell
Hutchinson, London · 1919

First Edition. Beautiful copy of this very scarce collection of stories all featuring the Great Interruption, i.e. the First World War. Undated but with publisher's catalogue at rear for Spring 1919, listing the present title as a new book.

Cerise cloth lettered and decorated in black to spine. Trivial page-edge spotting else absolutely clean and sharp. Given the fact that the quality of books being issued in Britain in late 1918 and early 1919 was probably the worst since the invention of printing, the condition of this volume is remarkable.

Almost certainly the best extant copy, even without a dust-wrapper.

Written by Dr Jeremy Parrott, who has the book in his hands. Nothing here is generated from a catalogue record.
