First Edition. Very scarce true first edition of the classic example of mid-Victorian humour by the editor of Punch. Undated, but published in 1871. 300pp text + 4pp list at rear.
Described as Vol. X in the Handy-Volume Series. Original red cloth with fancy lettering and ruling in black, resembling aBaedeker.
Some water spotting to covers and some small beverage stains (doubtless tea) internally but a sound copy of a book that has not survived well. No other copies of this first edition online at time of listing.
