First Edition. Extremely scarce first Hungarian edition of I Will Repay, the second of the Scarlet Pimpernel books. Hungarian was, of course, the author's first language, though she wrote all her books in English.
Naturally the Hungarians claim her as one of their own and her books are highly sought after. This book is in a translation by Marczali Erzsi, undated, but published in 1908. In two volumes as issued, pale blue imitation moire silk cloth binding, lettered and decorated in darker blue.
Rubbing to heads and tails of spines and a couple of small rust spots to one cover. However a good, sound set of a fragile piece of book production and the only set I have seen in 10 years dealing in Hungarian books. A must for any Orczy completist.
