Steventon Edition. Very attractive copy of this scarce and desirable edition. In 1882 Bentley issued Jane Austen's works (excluding Persuasion) in a de luxe 6-volume edition called the Steventon Edition.
Very few copies have survived in decent condition in the original, very sensitive cloth binding. This is, however, one such copy. Lady Susan (with the memoir and The Watsons) is Volume 6.
Original white cloth with fancy lettering in brown and spine title in gilt. Hand-made paper with uncut edges. Printed throughout in sepia with generous margins.
Tissue-guarded frontis. Minor grubbiness to cloth but perfectly sound and spotless internally, with no previous ownership inscriptions. Mansfield Park is also available as a matching volume.
