Germany's Swelled Head
Emil Reich
The Walsall Press, Walsall · 1907
First Edition. Very scarce first edition of this self-published book which went on to become a surprise bestseller. Reich argued in 1907 that Germany was the greatest threat to Britain, but was largely ignored as a crank.
The events of 1914 proved him right and his book was reissued by the mainstream publishers Melrose. This copy is in the original stiff card covers with red, black and gold portrait of the Kaiser and lettering. Rubbing to edges but nonetheless a good or better survival of a rare and fragile book.
Written by Dr Jeremy Parrott, who has the book in his hands. Nothing here is generated from a catalogue record.
