Ein Lotterie- Loos [Un Billet de Loterie]
Jules [Julius] Verne
Hartleben, Wien · 1887
First Edition. Very scarce first edition in German of this lesser-known Verne novel. Issued as Volume LI (51) in the series Schriften von Julius Verne, Octav-Ausgaben.
This is a small 8vo in the publisher's bright red pebble grained cloth with facsimile signature to front cover and gilt lettering to spine. The spine is faded and the lettering rather hard to make out. Full colour illustrated extra title page preceding title, and dated 1887 on the title page. Contains Ein Lotterie-Loos followed by Frritt-Flacc! 224pp.
The first edition in French appeared in 1886 and the first fully illustrated German edition in 1888. Apart from spine fading a very good, sound and internally clean copy. [EDA, OLn, sehr gut gehalten].
Written by Dr Jeremy Parrott, who has the book in his hands. Nothing here is generated from a catalogue record.
