Egy Ev
Illyes Gyula
Budapest: Sarlo, 1945, Budapest · 1945
First Edition. Good Plus. Very scarce first edition of this collection of poems by one of Hungary's greatest poets published at the end of the war when austerity and shortages were at their most acute.
A flimsy paper-covered pamphlet of 80pp, at least sporting a two-tone colour wrapper. This book has become such a rarity that a facsimile edition was issued in the 1990s. This, however, is the original, with slight creasing and edge chipping to the front cover.
Perfectly clean internally and about as good a copy as one could expect to find given the circumstances of production.
Written by Dr Jeremy Parrott, who has the book in his hands. Nothing here is generated from a catalogue record.
