Baigneuses et Buveurs D'eau
Ch. Brainne
Librairie Nouvelle, Dentu, Amyot, Paris · 1860
First Edition. Very rare, early guide to bathing and medicinal baths, with sections on the resorts of the Cote d'Azur and the major spa towns of Europe. In the publisher's original yellow wraps, lettered in red, uncut and unopened beyond p.16 (of 288).
Spine panel rubbed with some loss and covers generallygrubby; internally almost fine condition. It is unlikely that any copies have survived in a better state of preservation than the present one. An important historical record and worthy of a place in a major collection.
Written by Dr Jeremy Parrott, who has the book in his hands. Nothing here is generated from a catalogue record.
