First Edition. Beautiful copy of this rare, early book by Herczeg Ferenc. First edition, dated 1897 on title page.
Tezla notes it as 1896 but he never saw a copy and was (as often) wrong. Bright scarlet cloth lettered and illustrated in black, edges lightly marbled, ads to endpapers. Issued as Vol.
XIV No. 18 of the Egyetemes Regenytar (Universal Novel Library). Most copies I've handled from this series are by now wrecks. This copy is, however, bright and sharp.
Almost certainly the best extant copy.
