A Medve [The Bear from Go Down, Moses]

William Faulkner
Europa, Budapest · 1958

First Edition. First edition in Hungarian. Number 11 in the enormously important Modern Konyvtar series which introduced Hungarians to the best of post-war literature from beyond their own borders.

This was also the very first work by Faulkner to appear in Hungarian, 8 years after the award of the Noibel Prize.Translation and 5pp afterword by Viktor Janos. Plain card covers with dust-wrapper pasted to book spine as issued. Very slight shelf wear but very good or better, particularly considering the poor production quality.

Scarce, even in Hungary.

Written by Dr Jeremy Parrott, who has the book in his hands. Nothing here is generated from a catalogue record.
